A Website for Cassie ...
We at Alton Central School and the Town of Alton have created this page for members of the community to share their well-wishes for Cassie, an 11-year-old member of our community who lost both of her parents in a tragic incident on February 15, 2008.
The Town of Alton Victim's Advocate will post donation information here for those who wish to contribute towards Cassie or towards the care of the family's two dogs and two horses during this difficult time (UPDATE: the horses have been moved to their new home and no longer need assistance). See the links at the right for more details.
The following PO Box was established by the Victim's Advocate and may be used to send cards and gift cards - this mail is forwarded directly to Cassie's legal guardian:

Hey, Cassie!
Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you. Can't wait for you to check out the school website to see me duct taped to the wall during winter carnival! Believe it or not, they even got me up on stage and dancing with the 8th grade girls! I held my own and looked pretty silly for an old lady like me. I look forward to hearing from you and I know the kids will keep me posted.
Take Care,
Mrs. Kuras

Hi Cassie,
This is Isaac's mom. We just wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We also want to offer our barn to you and your horses (I think Mrs McCloud has mentioned this to you). I grew up with a white Arabian, I know what your horses mean to you. I have two extra stalls and lots of pasture. My horses (Norwegian Fjord and Saddlebred)are both good with other horses. They are welcome to stay short term or years. They are your horses and I want you to have all the time you need and not feel pressured to make choices now. Of course you would always be welcome here too, anytime! Maybe you could even get Isaac riding, I haven't had any luck with this! You are so brave! The whole town is pulling for you!

Hi Cassie!
It was real nice to see you at the big kids school the other day, I can't wait to go there next year. I wish we could have stayed at your party but we had to go get Kara. It looked like you were having alot of fun. I have a card and some stuff for you, I'll send it to the school and my dad says they will send it to you. Let me know when you get it. I know you miss your horses but my dad says they are on a real nice farm and everyone is helping take care of them. He says those crazy dogs are probabaly barking and jumping up and down all over the place waiting to see you. I hope I can talk to you soon, you're my best girlfriend. Kage
